How to read a loupe
Each loupe draws three rings around the casino's own map position. The inner ring is 400 m, the middle one 800 m and the outer one 1,200 m. These distances are straight lines, and the minutes assume a pace of 80 m a minute. A real walk along streets is longer.
Five kinds of places are counted. Transit means bus stops and stations, leaving out stops mapped as private shuttles or HandyDART. Hotels include motels, guest houses and hostels. Food covers restaurants, cafes, fast food and food courts. Shops means malls, supermarkets and department stores, and the fifth kind is parks.
Every count comes from OpenStreetMap, fetched through the Overpass API on October 8, 2026. A count can include restaurants or a hotel inside the casino complex itself when the map places them there. Volunteers edit that map, so a place can be missing, closed or sitting slightly off its real spot.

How the nine blocks differ
Within 800 m, Parq Casino has the most mapped places to eat, 259, and the most bus stops or stations, 45. It also has the most mapped hotels in that ring, 21. The fewest places to eat are mapped around Hastings Casino, with 1, and the fewest stops around Cascades Casino Delta, with 2.
Five of the nine casinos have a hotel on site or adjoining. Parq Casino has two, the JW Marriott and The Douglas. Grand Villa Casino, River Rock Casino Resort and Cascades Casino Delta each have one. At the other end, OpenStreetMap maps no hotel within 800 m of Great Canadian Casino Vancouver or Elements Casino Surrey.
Cascades Casino Langley has the Coast hotel adjoining it and the Langley Centre bus exchange next door. Bays 1 to 7 sit about 130 to 190 m away in a straight line. Routes 320, 501, 502 and 503 run from there to Surrey Central Station. Route 595 goes to Maple Meadows Station and 531 to White Rock Centre. Within 800 m of the casino, OpenStreetMap maps 44 bus stops or stations, 3 hotels and 64 places to eat.
