About this guide

Who pays for Around the Block

One thing pays for Around the Block: a commission from the paid links on its home page. Those links, each marked Ad, lead to a private online casino partner.

Where the Ad links sit

The paid links appear on the home page and nowhere else. There are three, each marked Ad. One sits in the menu, one in a block just below the first screen and one near the end of the page. Venue pages, the maps and this page carry none.

All three lead to the same private online casino partner. The site earns a commission from that partner. The partner can change, so it is not named here.

That partner is not PlayNow.com. In British Columbia, PlayNow.com, run by BCLC, is the only legal online gambling site. The partner is not licensed by the province.

What never pays

Venues never pay this site, and neither do TransLink, PlayNow, BCLC or the help services. The restaurants, hotels, parks and shops named on the maps do not pay either. Links to a venue's own site are not paid links.

Readers get no rewards of any kind from the site. There are no forms, no comments and no newsletter. Nothing about readers is collected. A theme choice stays only in the browser tab, and the chosen walking time stays only in the browser.
